Erica Ramirez is a first-generation UC Irvine graduate and proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. Although she was accepted to some of the most prominent schools on the west coast, she chose to join the Anteater family because of its generous financial aid package, strong public health program, and extensive resources for Latinx students.

Erica fondly remembers her involvement with the Latinx Resource Center, including events like "Cafecito con Profesores." She credits the UCI-OC Alliance for motivating her to pursue higher education. Now, she serves as a financial analyst for UCI’s Joe C. Wen School of Population and Public Health and is a candidate for a master’s in public administration at California State University, Dominguez Hills. Her advice to incoming UCI students: Step out of your comfort zone and seize all that UCI offers.
